Example

In dermatology, the key to successful treatment is choosing the appropriate medication and starting treatment at the right time.

Eczema

Eczema is often caused by sweat, seasonal dryness, or friction. It may worsen with environmental changes or fatigue.
Treatment typically includes appropriate topical steroid ointments and oral antihistamines.
If the eczema is not chronic, symptoms usually improve within about one week with proper treatment.

Heat Rash

Heat rash is common during the summer and is usually itchy. Although it is often considered a childhood condition, adults can also develop heat rash.
Treatment includes topical steroid ointments and oral antihistamines. Because this condition may be partly related to individual skin sensitivity or body constitution, it can sometimes recur.

Acne

Acne is a type of bacterial skin infection. It commonly appears on the face and back and is frequently seen in people between their 20s and 40s.
Some mild cases may improve naturally, but many patients benefit from appropriate medications.
There are several effective treatments available, and the choice depends on the severity of your symptoms.
Treatment usually requires consistent use for a certain period of time.
Possible side effects: Some medications may cause mild irritation or redness when first applied.

Hives (Urticaria)

Hives appear suddenly and may disappear within a short period. They are usually accompanied by itching.
Because hives are caused by reactions inside the body, they are treated with oral medications.
Early treatment during the acute phase is important.

Please note

The following may worsen symptoms, so they should be avoided until your condition improves:
Excessive alcohol consumption
Strenuous exercise
Long or very hot baths

Contact Dermatitis (Allergic Reaction)

This condition often occurs after using new cosmetic products or after contact with unfamiliar plants. It may also develop when changing skincare or makeup products.
Treatment includes topical ointments and oral antihistamines. It is also important to stop using the suspected product or avoid the triggering substance.

Cold Sores

Cold sores typically appear around the mouth and may cause pain or a tingling sensation. They can look similar to aphthous ulcers (canker sores), but the treatments are completely different, so accurate diagnosis is important.
Cold sores are treated with antiviral medications, while canker sores are treated with topical steroid ointments.
With appropriate treatment, symptoms usually improve within about one week. Although cold sores are contagious, transmission is relatively uncommon, so there is usually no need for excessive concern.

Shingles

Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox during childhood. Even after recovery from chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the body.
Later in life, especially during periods of stress or fatigue, the virus may reactivate and cause shingles.
Typical symptoms include:
Rash appearing on only one side of the body
Sharp or stabbing pain
Early treatment is very important. Antiviral medication, along with pain relievers and sometimes topical antibiotics, is usually prescribed for about seven days.
With timely treatment, shingles often improves within a few weeks. However, if symptoms persist for several months, a condition called postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) may develop, which causes persistent nerve pain. Unfortunately, PHN can be difficult to treat completely.

Wounds (Injuries)

For minor scrapes, wash the wound thoroughly with clean tap water. After cleaning, antibacterial medication may be applied.
If you have a cut that is bleeding, apply firm pressure with gauze or a clean cloth to stop the bleeding. If bleeding does not stop, stitches under local anesthesia may be necessary.
We can provide minor surgical treatment when needed. Please feel free to consult us if you believe suturing may be required.

Insect Bites

Insect bites are often itchy and may cause swelling and redness due to an allergic reaction.
Treatment includes topical ointments and oral antihistamines. Early treatment is important. If left untreated, the condition may become chronic and develop into prurigo, which can be more difficult to manage.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is common during autumn and winter in Japan. It may cause itching over large areas of the body. Aging and individual skin type may contribute to this condition.
Treatment includes moisturizers and oral antihistamines. In more severe cases, topical steroid ointments may also be necessary.
Choosing the appropriate moisturizer according to the season is important. If you are unsure which product is suitable for you, please feel free to consult us. We will be happy to recommend the most appropriate option.
